We used to think our planet is so vast that we couldn’t possibly cause any real harm; that nature will always be with us. Sadly that's not the case.
Our world is changing, and everybody can see and feel it. The profound impact we’ve had on countless environments can no longer be denied. But wildlife in many ways suffer out of sight, and many species are struggling to survive. Some experts believe we are already living through Earth’s sixth mass extinction, with the worst extinction rates since the loss of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Studies suggest that, at current rates, 75% of today's animal species could vanish within just 300 years.
North America is no exception. About one-third of US fish and wildlife species are at risk, with many already listed as threatened or endangered. WWF reported in its Living Planet Report that almost half of Canada’s monitored wildlife populations are in decline.
What we do
We are by no means conservation experts, but as citizens of planet Earth we can step up and play a small part in the effort to conserve our world’s fragile ecosystems. Art and design is what we know best, and we view every artwork as an opportunity to make a difference. Here’s how:
Decorate...
With mood-boosting art
Nature lifts our spirits like nothing else, but nowadays life is busy, and getting a regular dose of nature can sometimes feel like an impossible task. With art we can bring the beauty and mood-boosting benefits of wilderness and wildlife right into our homes to foster a renewed sense of adventure, keep us connected to life outside our cities, and inspire admiration for the natural world.
Learn...
And spread the word
Wildlife populations around the world have plunged. Global warming is projected to bring a huge chunk of animals and plants to extinction in our lifetime. But there are also wins and stories of hope, and we use our platform to shine a light on these and other issues.
We continue to grow our collections of educational art, and use our product pages to list information about the animals featured in those pieces. Additionally, we use journal stories and social channels to share news from the animal world.
Motivate...
Make a difference with small impacts
Introducing Initiatives. With Initiatives we use a portion of the proceeds from sales to support organizations running rewilding and conservation projects. We prioritize smaller-scale projects with objectives that are both tangible and measurable.Every month we launch a new Initiative with a different beneficiary. We support these organizations with awareness and educational content, and make a contribution to the funds needed for featured projects.
